Where did it go wrong?

Where did it go wrong? Can we come back from this?

The tears run silently down my face as I listen to the sorrows and fears of our nation. Stronger storms tearing through homes and wiping out families. Politicians bowing to money and corruption selling our freedoms while plotting our demise. Disease running rampant without the needed funds or supplies to fight it. People too poor to stay at home when they are sick. Homeless and elderly dying without mourners.

Where did it go wrong?

People reporting the news aren’t necessarily speaking the truth. They color the facts to spin the stories they want us to hear. As always, money is the bottom line.

The tipping point has arrived and we helped push it over. Climate change, hate, greed, sickness, perception, money, corporations get breaks, people are disposable, rich get richer and poor get poorer. Wars and rumors of wars fill the news. Earthquakes, hurricanes, floods, droughts, disasters everywhere. Unrest and danger fill the streets of every nation. The end has come.

Soon our nation will follow the lead of other autocratic nations. Elections will be only for show, opposition candidates will be imprisoned, leaders will graft what they can while ignoring the needs of the many. Oligarchies will not give up their hold on our society easily. And many won’t even notice the changes.

Already, in our country, people are being stripped of their rights and deported or imprisoned. Only those with a great deal of money have safety here. Healthcare will become more unaffordable. Housing costs will push more families into the streets. Epidemics will be normalized while natural disasters swirl around us.

People who are not of the “national religion” will be ostracized and dissenters will be proclaimed heretics. Those who are full of compassion will be hated and ones filled with cruelty will be hailed as heroes.

This isn’t a national crisis, it is a global crisis. A nation that was once known for the “American way” will become like China, North Korea, Russia, Venezuela, and Nazi Germany. And because of its downfall, the rest of the world will move into chaos.

Then the savior will arrive and bring peace to the whole world. But it will be a false peace, leading to the greatest persecution the world has ever known. A third of the world will die. Plagues, disasters, and the end of everything we’ve known.

Why is this happening?

This, because Christians have stopped praying for revival, for repentance, for God’s will here on earth. Now they praise the cruelty of men and companies. And they spew hate on anyone who disagrees.

Get on your knees and pray. There is still time to turn the tide of hate, vitriol, and cruel greed. It begins in our hearts. It is shown by our compassion for all humans everywhere.

If you want to halt climate change, pray for our leaders, the voters, our politicians, our cities, the heads of companies worldwide.

If you want to have affordable healthcare, safety from disease, affordable housing, better wages, and government serving its citizens instead of bilking them, get on your knees and pray for change in your hearts and then in the hearts of others who make those decisions.

If you want to help the homeless, the downtrodden, the refugees from political, religious, climate, criminal enterprises, ask God how you can help. Pray for each one and pray that you can change the life of just one person.

If you look at the world and are satisfied with how things are going, you might want to pray for God to search your heart. Too many people are hurting and are helpless to do anything about it. People are literally dying everywhere because of greed, hate, cruelty.

Where is this world leading us?

This isn’t a world I want to be in. Heaven looks better all the time. It’s amazing how much our world has changed in the last 4 years. But it is even more amazing to see how different it was from when I was young. Children growing up now are losing their freedoms. They will have no choice in how they live.

I voted for Elizabeth Warren

How you vote is up to you. I voted for Elizabeth Warren because I feel she would make the best president. She has plans and ideas to change things in our nation for everyone. It would make our country a safer place.

If you think she would make the best president and you haven’t voted yet, but you think it will just be wasted effort, then you are already living in the land of no freedom.

Primaries were meant to help us discover who we thought would be the best president. Kamala was always my second choice and Cory Booker was my third choice. The people with heart were shot down. Money prevails in the media and in the Democratic process. It saddens me to see the corporate money shut down the campaigns of Tom Steyer, Pete Buttigieg, and Amy Klobuchar before the Super Tuesday election. It made no sense for them to drop out just three days away.

The people with heart were shot down.

I don’t vote for just one piece of a platform. I don’t vote pro-life, I won’t vote for money, hate, greed, racism, and science deniers. That’s the Republican platform. It’s changed quite a bit. It used to stand for small government that cared for people and brought service to those who needed it. Now it stands for the wealthy and the corrupt.

I stand for peace, compassion, affordable healthcare, affordable housing, livable wages, breaking up monopolies and increasing competition, rewarding innovation, taking care of strangers in our lands, and providing work for anyone who wants it.

It’s not socialism. It’s the American dream of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It isn’t far left, it is the American way of life. It isn’t systemic racism that jails poor people for years and rich people for months or days.

This is the golden rule in practice. To treat people the way I would want to be treated. To be honest about facts and remorse when I do wrong. To bring a smile to others and be satisfied that you helped a little. To share my way of living so others can have a chance at life.

If you want to bring change in our country and our world, start with me here on our knees and ask God to show us in our hearts what we need to do next. Help us to pray for our leaders and the heads of corporations that they will relent and step back from cruel practices.

Have compassion. Persist in the fight.
